FRM奖学金申请基本事项

　　全日制在读研究生可以申请由GARP官方提供的350美元奖学金(更像是报名费优惠)，且奖学金仅针对参加一级的考生，每位考生一生只能获得一次。最需要注意的事情是Deadline。FRM11月份的奖学金申请截止日期是8月31号哦，千万不要错过。奖学金是否申请成功会在10月23号公布出来。

　　另外，在开始奖学金申请之前，你必须已经支付1级的FRM考试费，并且已经在My Program里下载你的Invoice(这是必不可少的材料)。

　　前期材料准备

　　下载Scholarship Application，登陆到GARP官网，点击页面上端的My Program，把右手边的Study Materials栏拉到底端，点击Scholarship Application Download进行下载。打开所下载的PDF文件，合计6页，前两页可以不看(但别忘了截止时间8.31)。从第三页开始就是重点。

　　总结起来你需要准备这些纸质材料：

　　Current CV，英文简历，按照求职的要求准备吧，大家上网找找

　　Printed Invoice，支付FRM考试费之后，才可以在My Program里下载

　　2018 May Application，把刚刚下载的6页PDF文件打印，并将第四页中Faculty Member那行以上的内容填写，同时把第五页有关内容如实勾选。

　　Transcript，成绩单现在基本上都是自助机打，我认为有学校大红章就OK。

　　FRM很人性化地允许研究生新生使用课程表来申请，本人就是用Education Certificate在读证明和Class Schedule Certificate课程表来申请，同样也是有大红章的。

　　这一项主要是用于证明奖学金申请人在参加FRM考试的那个时间点是在读的、全日制的研究生，因此在出具证明时必须突出这些点，这很重要!我给大家准备了一些参考。FRM奖学金申请事宜在线咨询

　　Personal Statement，即Applicant statement，稍后细说。

　　Personal Statement个人陈述

　　通过一页纸的Statement你需要说清楚的是两点。一个是对风控领域的commitment，另一个就是FRM对你职业生涯的作用。

　　对风控领域的commitment

　　我认为写作时应结合考试内容中GARP的行为准则，比如：It's also worth mentioning that if I become an FRM, I will be expected to adhere to the GARP Code of Conduct, letting me devote myself to safeguarding the reputation of FRM and GARP.

　　为什么FRM有利于你的职业生涯

　　可以聊聊金融行业就业前景，以及FRM本身的优势，比如：The FRM Exam is also practitioner-driven,and earning the FRM designation will demonstrate to my future employer that I am able to master complex real-world challenges.

　　或者是Entering the financial industry for a graduate student requires at least one designations of FRM and CFA. As the world’s most widely accepted risk management designation, FRM is focused on risk and enhances knowledge and skills about risk, however, CFA never covers risk in the same depth as FRM.

　　注意点

　　GARP奖学金本质上还是补助性质的，因此在statement里还是要提及自己的经济困境，比如：

　　I’m a full-time graduate student without income, so the scholarship would reduce hours spent on part-time job and will give me financial help. The scholarship will be greatly appreciated and put to good use. I plan to buy the official FRM ExamPart I bookwhich might improve my understanding of FRM course.(虽然你大概率不会买原版书，毕竟金程的课就足够)FRM课程在线咨询

　　去年(2017年)的statement和recommendation一样必须打印在学校官方信纸上，但2018年已经不再作此要求，statement可以写在普通纸上，目前网上不少奖学金申请帖都是针对旧规则的经验。

　　Recommendation推荐信

　　GARP的本意是让你的老师证明你可以从这笔钱以及FRM考试中获益，并且还要突出你在statement里所说的对风控的commitment。这里就不再赘述，直接贴例句：

　　The reasons why I believe he would benefit from the scholarship are as flows.

　　Firstly, if he becomes an FRM, he’ll have a competitive advantage that can help him stand out to his future employers. A friend of mine who is a Certified FRM and working in ICBC told me that nowadays opportunities are waiting for aspiring young people who possess the knowledge and tools necessary to assess and manage the challenges associated with the dynamic financial services industry.

　　What’s more, he has a good sense and a great interest of financial risk. Recently, he exampled to me the advantages of the ERM which is also called Enterprise Risk Management, and what left me the most deep impression was his commitment to FRM. XXX hopes that what he would learn from the FRM examination could also helps his research in Public Finance such as hedging the risk of government bankruptcy.

　　Last but not least, it is the enrollment fee of 350 dollars that brings a huge financial burden to a full-time graduate student without a job. The FRM scholarship would help he achieve the goal of becoming a certificated FRM faster as he would otherwise spend a long period of time doing part-time job to save up for the enrollment fee.

　　注意点

　　1.要遵守英文商务信件的规范格式。

　　2.签字人不是导师，是授课老师也行。认识的大神是自己签字，老师全程tan90。

　　3.推荐信必须打印在有学校抬头的信纸上，校园超市应该有。

　　邮寄

　　注意!Attention!这可能是最最最关键的地方了。

　　我用的快递是EMS，也有同学在T宝上找代理使用UPS和DHL的。事实证明，可能是因为美国大雪与一月份的政府倒闭，我的快递在customs待了整整3周，EMS赔了我一半的邮费，还好没有影响GARP收到材料。我通过邮件询问得知我的材料完整，运输中无丢失，总之FRM报名备考考生有事情都可以发邮件骚扰memberservices@garp.com

　　要从我快递延误的事情吸取教训，大家要尽可能提前准备奖学金申请材料，本来5天的路程很可能会变成25天，要知道GARP对迟到的材料是绝对不受理的，再次提醒8.31。另外，那边收到材料以后会发邮件告诉你。

　　快递的文件袋里只放纸，不需要装订，因为钉书针或者回形针会形成突起磨穿信封;为防止意外，信封外面加个泡沫套是必要的。
